The charitable association “Cans for Kids”, in the presence of Mrs Elena Nicolaou, Head of Corporate Social Responsibility at Petrolina (Holdings) Public Limited, donated a modern LiteGait 200P gait-training system to the Larnaka General Hospital. The equipment, valued at €15,000, was purchased using funds raised through aluminium can recycling.
Petrolina, remaining true to its values and principles, operates with responsibility toward society and actively supports initiatives that enhance health and promote environmental protection. As part of its long-standing and structured Corporate Social Responsibility policy, the company supports the “Cans for Kids” association by providing free fuel for its vehicles.
During the handover, Mrs Elena Nicolaou said: “We have been supporting “Cans for Kids” since 2000, recognising its significant social and environmental contribution. We will continue to stand by the association, helping strengthen our hospitals and promote recycling in Cyprus.”
On behalf of the association, the Treasurer of the Board of Directors, Mr Giorgos Englezou, expressed his gratitude to Petrolina, emphasising that this continued support enables “Cans for Kids” to fulfil its mission, for the benefit of children and society. The medical equipment was received by the Hospital’s Chief Financial Officer, Mr. Marios Michael, together with the Head Physiotherapist, Mrs. Stalo Mina Stylianou.
It is worth noting that since 1990, “Cans for Kids” has donated medical equipment worth approximately €350,000 to paediatric wards in hospitals across Cyprus.
