07 August 2017

Petrolina is the first company in Cyprus to secure all necessary permits for the operation of the first Autogas station.

Autogas is a new product in the Cyprus market and is available by Petrolina, the largest LPG bottling and distribution company. It is an alternative vehicle fuel and is suitable for all engines that can run on Autogas. This option is more economical and, more importantly, friendlier to the environment as it contributes towards lower emissions.

The station, under Agip brand, providing this product, operates under the management of Mr. Costas Savvides. It is located in Larnaka Avenue in Nicosia and meets all the safety and environmental standards of EU and complies with Cyprus legislation and the regulations of the competent department of the Energy, Commerce, Industry and Tourism Ministry.

In his statement, Mr Yiorgos Lakkotrypis, of Energy, Commerce, Industry and Tourism commented that “such business actions offer to the consumer alternative options for energy use and contribute towards a better quality of life”.

Mr Dinos Lefkaritis, Executive Director of Petrolina (Holdings) Public Ltd, said that “this development is part of the Company’s broader strategy to offer innovative products to the market that satisfy consumer needs”. Mr Lefkaritis added that the Company’s goal is to provide Autogas services in more petrol stations in the near future.
